I’ve not had a good time in the garden this year … I never did get any peas in, I’ve had to plant runner beans twice and still only have a handful of plants to show for it, the slugs ate my first sewing of carrots, the courgettes wouldn’t germinate, so a second planting isn’t even yet in flower …

I didn’t even get round to planting cabbages, which always grow well in our slightly alkaline soil. So I cheated and bought a strip of plants from B&Q …

No, it’s not growing in the grass! This is after I cut it and gave the outside leaves to the hens … a few more outside leaves were enough for us for a meal and the heart is still fine for Sunday lunch. Can’t wait! :lol:
