This was an experiment for an ‘All around the World’ quilt … it didn’t go quite to plan, but I know where I went wrong! I love the colours (they are slightly more teal than blue in real life). For a long time I couldn’t decide on a quilting plan, although all the other pieces were in place … but I saw something (can’t now remember what) that gave me an idea, and I’m pleased with the result. My stitching could be more even, but I’m not a perfectionist. The backing is a piece of fabric from Dunelm Mill, sold as cotton sheeting, and quite inexpensive at £5.99 m taking into account the additional width (100″). They had a limited range of colours, but if this washes well, I will use it again.
