We took a few hours off to visit our favourite haunt …

So good to see gulls in their natural environment, away from the urban sprawl!

Then onto the salt marshes for a spot of birdwatching. Somewhere in these reeds are Reed Warblers

I can hear them close by, but have never yet managed even a glimpse. So frustrating! Still, I could listen to their song for hours. No picture, but I had a wonderful view a Kestrel, flying close by the Island Hide … DH missed it, as he was focussed on a Little Egret feeding across the water. Such is the fun of bird watching … you can wait for hours and see nothing, or not really be looking and get the best views! Back home to the garden … to see the last of the apple blossom …
