DH & I spend last week in and around the New Forest. It’s a favourite haunt of my childhood and since, but it’s the first time I’ve been in some years, and the first time we’ve been there together. We had friends to see and family to visit, but we also made time simply to walk in the forest itself. The New Forest isn’t all about trees … there are big, wide open spaces, too. But I love wandering in the woods, and am always fascinated by the forest floor. It’s autumn, and the trees are turning – perhaps not the brightest autumn colours I can remember, but beautiful all the same.

In the dull light under the trees, it’s difficult for the camera to accurately capture the true depth of colour, but I hope you get the idea … đŸ˜‰
